Creating Fine Erotic Art Exhibitions Since The Turn Of the Century.” Join us for our 15th Anniversary Celebration, at our New Location! The Exhibition Center at the Russell Industrial Center – in Detroit
Over the years the Dirty Show has had many homes, originating in 2000 in the former offices of Orbit/Fun Magazine in Royal Oak, MI were the first two shows, the second home was artist Camilo Pardo’s Bankle Building Studio in Detroit, the next year found the show in Detroit’s Museum Of New Art, still growing, in 2004 the show moved to the Tangent Gallery where it remained for three years. Outgrowing the Tangent, the show moved to Bert’s Warehouse in Eastern Market-Detroit.
After 6 years in Eastern Market, the Dirty Show® is MOVING!, we’ve outgrown our space. Our 2014 Detroit exhibition will be the first “public event” in the new Russell Industrial Exhibition Center. We were wowed when we saw it and we think you will be too. With over 36,000 square feet and a two story ceiling, we have an opportunity to take the exhibitions to new heights. We think you will love the cranes, catwalks and appreciate the modern bathrooms. Best of all, we remain in Detroit, it’s located right off I-75 (Exit 54), 1/2 mile east of the New Center/Fisher Building, only a few minutes north of Eastern Market.
The Russell Industrial Complex has a storied history, originally built in the 1920’s as the Murray Body Corporation, an auto body stamping and manufacturing facility, that created body parts for Ford, Chrysler, Packard, Mercury, Studebaker, Hudson, REO, to name a few.
The Russell currently has more than 140 on-site tenants with the majority being artists, making the Russell Industrial Complex one of the largest artistic communities in the Midwest.
