Game Face: Cultivating Natural Facial Expressions for Performance 11am-12pm
Express yourself from head to toe with this 60-minute workshop geared toward cultivating natural and dynamic facial expressions in your performance. Instead of just plastering on a fake smile, this workshop will give you psychological tools and tricks to approach generating natural facial expressions from deep within yourself, creating more genuine and resonant characters/body language so you can express yourself and connect on a deeper level to your audience.

Love on the Brain: Emotive Storytelling Choreography with Eva La Feva 12:30pm-2:30pm
In this 2-hour choreography class, students will learn a choreography to Rihanna’s “Love on the Brain.” This class will expand on the principles presented in the Game Face workshop (though taking the Game Face workshop is NOT a requirement for the choreography workshop).
In this class, we will discuss principles for creating/expressing clear and simple storylines and delve into tools and tricks for creating emotive movement. Students will walk away with a better idea of how to tap into their own experience to create powerful, compelling, and unique performances.
Bring: Men’s (or large) long-sleeved shirt, gloves, and a square scarf/bandanna that is large enough to tie your hair up in a pinup style (see photo). Students should not wear heels for this choreography.
Instructor bio:
Eva la Feva is a nationally touring burlesque and belly dance performer/producer that has been delighting audiences for over a decade with her fluid, stylized dance technique base and her emotive and theatrical approach to burlesque.
In 2016, Eva formed “Feva Pitch Productions,” and event production company specializing in burlesque/nightlife entertainment. In addition, Eva helped co-found Burlesque Community Against Unsafe Spaces (BCAUS) in 2016, a community action group designed to foster safe spaces in the Chicago burlesque scene. In 2016, Eva was awarded the Judith Stein scholarship to the Edmonton Burlesque Festival
